Odd noise in the vents

When braking, or sometimes when just driving, I get a strange, almost metallic sounding "swooshing" nose in dash, likely from the vents. It's definitely more noticeable on the passenger side. Does it whether the A/C is on or off, but only when the blower fan is on. Ideas?

Re: Odd noise in the vents

My first guess would be that either the fan bearings are going bad, or more likely, there are leaves or junk bouncing around in the fan cage. Just pull it out and look. Like 5 little screws hold it in. Check inside the box with a light too. Could be leaves or trash in there if you don't see anything in the cage.

Cool, thanks. Sounds simple enough, so I'll check it out tonight. The metallic sound is throwing me off, but yeah, now that you say it bearings would make sense.
