Do you have a picture of your motor? Well if it a V6 It should say on top 2.8 Or 3.1

Welcome to the no father figure or have a father but he has no idea what he is doing club! Like they said more than likely a 3.1 not very fast but it gets great gas mileage.

Re: Help! no idea! pic inside

not really big problems i just want to be able to get it to the best of it's ability, it does however over heat at times and it's made a weird ghost like noise then shut off on me once..but considering i got it for 1100 $ i think it's pretty good also the interior is in close to mint condition!

just looked up a little info on carfax and it said my car came stock with 3.1L V6 MPI OHV 12V whats this mean lol

Welcome to the boards! Based on what the carfax says, it's just giving a detailed description of your motor.
3.1 Liter V6, it is MultiPortInjected, OverHeadValve

Buy a v-8. Lmfao. But in all honesty, first make sure your car is up to snuff. If you just bought it I'd suggest flushing and replacing all fluids. You never know how old that stuff is on a 20+ year old car or what sort of crap the PO had in there. From the one pic it looks to have a cold air intake which is a good place to start. Make sure the spark plugs and wires are good and that you're firing on all six cylinders. If it's stock exhaust you can buy a performance catback, or just replace the muffler and cat with better flowing ones. I don't know of many headers for the V-6's but those will also yield an instant HP increase. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Hope this helps, I'm sure someone else will chime in as well with a bunch more ideas.

Summit or Jeggs have a ton of stuff for thirdgens. As far as exhaust goes, flowmaster is a pretty good brand. Your air filter may be clogged or need to be cleaned, that can sometimes really bog down a vehicle.

Take the filter off and actually look at it. Most filters will have small debreis and black spots on them if not cleaned in a while. K&N sells a special cleaning kit that can be picked up at nearly any auto parts store.
