honestly, i have never seen that before.

whats it hooked to? looks like vacuum and then i can see what the large line goes to.

 

Never seen one either....Is that pump for your washer fluid? Where does that line go to that runs out of it and across the top of the firewall.

Rip it out and see what doesn't work when you start your car again...

 

The top line runs across the firwall into a wire loom if I remember correctly. The other is a hose that runs to the back of the intake, shown here:

 

Some cars had the vac tank in that vicinity. Do you have the 'orb of power' (the round tank under the battery tray that the charcoal canister is bolted to)?

I don't remember seeing that. Is it visible under the hood, or do you have to look from underneath?

 

The 'orb' is bolted to the battery tray and is protected from beneath by the plastic baffle seen below:

You should be able to stick a hand up in there to feel the 'orb' which is about honey dew melon size.
