Connect motor to transmission, Help....
Connect motor to transmission, Help....
Hey fellas, I'm finally in the stage of dropping my new 383 motor. Its already sitting inside and the motor is about 5 or 6 inches away from being flush with the tranny, but were finding it somewhat hard to make the connection. Any advice on how to finish joining them? Do we just rattle the motor all the way in?
Its an 89 manual transmission Iroc-Z. Thanks!!

I like to grab a couple of long bolts that will thread into the block, and cut the heads off and use those as long azz guide pins to make it allot easier.

It's VERY easy if you put the clutch on the motor, and the bell housing with the fork and TOB on the transmission.
The long bolts are a VERY good idea. Make it almost fool-proof. ACtually, almost even ME-proof!
And of course don't try it with the dist installed, you will end up breaking something.
