Have you ever replaced your throttle cable?

I was wondering if there is a way to test the throttle cable? I ask because a guy was looking at my car and said he thought it was to loose, I know they are non adjustable but am wondering before i buy a new one.

Also, anyone that has replaced theirs, did you notice a difference?

Thanks,

-Shane

Stock are none adjustable. They go through sheetmetal and a little plastic clip snaps into the bar on the pedal assembly. Only way I could see it being loose is if the cable bracket on the tpi is loose, plasic clip is starting to enlarge, or the small screw that connects the cable mounting surface to the firewall is loose letting the clip move around. Why did he think it was loose? I tend not to trust the normal tire kickers anyways. I was once told 4.11s are best for a tpi and t350 is better than a 700r4 because it doesn't need a computer to shift. *rolleyes*

I'm not sure why he thought it was, I thought I read on here somewhere they eventually stretch out with age, I can't remember for sure though. I will check those weak points like you said just to be sure. I don't listen to "tire kickers" ether but this was at my Uncle's house, it was his neighbor who works as a dealership tech for 3x whatever years, he was fixing the rear disk brake. The rotor came off, the pads were gone, and the caliper was just hanging lol, he said it was the worst he had ever seen! it turns out the dip **** shop that did my pad replacement over a year ago used front pads... After he said that i had a flashback of the Hoosier hammering away on them saying "factory mess up....".

Anyway he said he had to many cars to fix to get into it but said i should look into it.
