Need help with 85 camaro that is barely running
Hello, so I'm having some problems with my 85 camaro. I was driving home from my girlfriends last night and as exited the highway and gave it gas it started running so rough that I had to basically crawl home. So I go out this morning to take a look at it and it is very hard to start and you have give it a lot of gas for it to fire. When i finally got it started, the whole car is shaking like crazy and it is super rough and has no power. It also drops down to about 100 RPMs sometimes and dies. I'm 17 and I have some knowledge with cars and I would really like to fix this myself because firstly, the car won't even make it to a shop, and secondly, i can't afford it. It has the 305. Anyway this is the first time I've posted and i would really appreciate any help. Thank you.

Strange. Sounds like you may be misfiring on a cylinder. Where to start? Is this really a 1985 LB9, ie a 305 TPI engine? How many kms? Smoke when you get it running? Check your oil and glycol, any weirdness?
- Pull spark plugs, and inspect. Lay them out on a white sheet of papertowel, in order. You can post a picture of the spark plugs if it's not readily apparent what you're looking at/for. That may answer your question right there.
- If not, pull your valve covers, grab each rocker arm and wiggle. Most of them will be loose, a couple will be tight. That's normal. If any valve springs are broken, valves dropped, rocker studs pulled up, etc - problem.
I'd start with those.

Thank you for the reply. Yes it is a 305 TPI and it has 205,000 KMs. There is no smoke and the oil is pretty fresh, the coolant is a little dirty though. I'll have to work on getting the spark plugs out because my headers are in the way and I don't have too many tools due to my parents splitting, that is changing though
I'll let you know when i get them out
