Post some cam specs and some head specs and maybe someone will volunteer to donate you the fruits of what they spent their hard-earned money paying some hard-working and intelligent programmer with an expensive education AND A COMPUTER his daily bread to create?

You dont have to be a rocket scientist, but owning a computer, or even a cheap netbook would be a good start if you want to do anything on the net.

Go to your local library. Most have free internet and computers to use. Problem solved.

What is the purpose of the motor?

Going to run a converter?

Those look like kinda small heads for a 400, but I guess it'll be more torquey than hp.

Are you aware 350 blocks and 400 blocks are different?

Ran quick numbers for you:

397 hp peak @ 5000
453 tq peak @ 4000

avg 237 hp
avg 307 tq

That's with 9.5:1 and 280HR cam (.525 .525 lifts 224 224 duration 2000-5500 powerband)

You're not going to see much in the high end of the rpm scales with small heads on a big motor. The larger bore size has to help to some degree but still it's a 175cc runner.

thanks for your comments, there just budget heads idea for right now but later on down the road ill be updating them to the better heads. Ill grab a set e-tecs Yea i know there very different, 350 and 400 different bores and different stroke, not to mention the steam holes needed for the heads to work which i have done alot of research on and they say its quite simple can drill em with hand drills. This is my dad and I's project so yea its family hobby for the first time LOL. This is what we love to see in all sorts of cars just some real american muscle. Know its like later in the gas days but we still love them sb chevy V8s. But were not letting this economy get us down and stuff still dreaming of horsepower and cubes of our own.
And i dk i just forgot all about the library, ill go there look up some other things too. Edit: i also forgot to answer your qeustion yes were planning on a stahl convertor some where around power band, and im also looking at pinion and ring geat ratios, 3.73:1. I have some time before i build this sbc 400. Have alot of curiousity running through me. Again thanks everyone
