Ok I'm taking my car to my mechanic to work on with him hopefully sometime this week.

Here's what I'm planning on doing:

I originally only needed Valve Seals ( bought a head kit so I think we'll put it all on). In the past week I developed a coolant leak from the top of my passenger side valve cover It would spit out the top of it when the engine was hot. There's no oil in the coolant that is leaking out which is a good sign that its not too serious.


I bought the car and it had a boat distributor on it and other boat parts so I'm going to have those taken off and set up back to stock and timed properly.

Lately the car has been really lacking power and running crappy. When I step on the gas it bogs and wants to stall out. When I accelerate while costing it hesitates and doesn't run smooth at all. I figured these are all symptoms of the above problems described but I don't know hat else it could be.

If anyone could help me out and maybe give me some other ideas and areas to look at that would be great. Possibly carburation??

I just wanna get it running good and running like a v8 should. mpg also sucks
