91 rs cam upgrade

I am new to third gens and I've been doin sum research. I have a RS drop top 5 speed. I got it about 8 months ago was on non op till this summer. I fixxed the timing with a buddy of mine turns out it was pretty off. Since then I've added a Flow and tips and am about to order headers and a TB spacer(airaid). Since it's only a 305 I'm not planning on tremendous power but I feel like a cam would help a lot. From research I see that people put LT1 cams in 305s. What year LT1 cam will fit my engine? It's my next move.

Should I get a used oem cam or buy a new oem one? Will it matter too much?
Plan on doin lifters and timing chain while it's open too

Re: 91 rs cam upgrade

A used one will do fine if it's in good shape. Roller cams are OK to reuse in a way that old flat tappets are not. Same with changing the lifters- OK on a roller, not OK on a flat tappet.
