ok i been fighting with this kickdown/detent cable for almost a month now. i have the holley bracket that mounts to the carb. if i have the bracket straight with the carb, the cable will not ratchet out any. if i move the bracket toward firewall which it ***** it sideways itll ratchet out..... do i have the wrong bracket? i tried the stock bracket and it doesnt even ratchet either. anybody with help or suggests please help ...

its a 700r4 trans on a 355sbc....84 camaro, edelbrock carb....

 

Why are you mixing a Holley bracket with an Edelbrock carb?
Your pic shows a lot of nice chrome, but the pic we need is much closer in, without the air cleaner.
