Re: Electric water pump for the street

An electric pump supposedly doesn't move as much water. Cruising around out in the county will prolly be fine, assuming its not 110 degrees out. But stop and go bumper to bumper traffic is prolly a no go. Electric pumps are also over rated. I read an article that they use something like 8 HP at 7200 RPM. Not worth 150 bucks for a good pump IMO. Had a buddy with a street strip 69 Nova with a built to the nuts 283 that he would drive every were in the county, and it had an electric water pump and tiny electric fan, never had a problem. just had to stop every 20 minutes to fill up the 3 gallon fuel cell.
