Looking for a low priced flat tappet cam for a low budget rebuild for my 305 which will be running a factory tpi setup with stock prom. Looking for something reasonably priced that will be able to pass emissions testing and run decent in a otherwise factory setup. I'd prefer something a bit more aggressive than factory that would fit the above criteria. I'm mainly considering this as a back up plan, I'd prefer to find a low priced used LT1 roller cam but I would also need all of the factory roller components with it as well (I used the origional lifters, spider tray, etc when building a 350)

I stuck a Comp 12-388-4 in my '86 LB9, it seemed the perfect match. No regrets on that, at all.
It gained me a noticeable improvement in mid-range torque. I couldn't tune my TPI, I didn't have the chip burning hardware or software, or I would have tried a 212/218-110 444/454

That's real bright. Did you even read the OP? The LT1 cam is virtually the same specs as the early LB9 cam, but the LT1 cams have slightly more lift, and the LT1 cams are for '87-up blocks and roller lifters.
