I went to replace my fuel filter on my '83 T/A (Crossfire injection) and I primed it and noticed right away it leaking. Looks like its comeing between the filter and the fitting that seperates it from the fuel line. I took the fitting off the original (Yes it had the original filter on it!) and a red powdery substance came out of the threads almost like it had threadlocker in it. Should I threadlock/teflon tape it? I didn't see and crush washers when I took it out.

760 in the house!!!! Im from the Imperial Valley. HHHmmmm. I dont recall if there is a rubber o-ring on the lines. There shouldnt be any leaking unless you cross threaded the filter. I dont know if teflon tape is capable of withstanding gas. I would investigate if teflon tape is okay to use. I wouldnt use threadlock though. That stuff is tough.
