Cam Change ?

I am new at engine performance mods and was wondering if a 5.7l .414/.428 Lift camshaft will work in my 88 Iroc 5.0L TPI?? If it will what will that do to the engine as per performance??

Re: Cam Change ?

I would do a compression check before modding the motor.

Re: Cam Change ?

460/460 lift is the max to go with stock springs on the stock heads.
220/220 @.50 is about the max duration you should go without chip tuning. Take a look at the largest Crane Compucam, that will give you an idea of how large a cam you can go. That is, without changing anything else on the motor.
