Hey guys i dropped a 383 in my car a few weeks ago and ran awsome couldnt ask for any better. Well a few days ago i took it out and a few miles down the road i found out it was over heating. I pulled over and it broke the belt. I Wrapped some plasitc tubing i had in car got it tight and worked alittle till it broke a mile or 2 down the road. But i got home and it was hot and smoking some but didnt seem like it was real bad. I decided to get a different alt bracket and new belt. I swapped carbs to see if i could get it running but its not right so i swapped back and now its just reving crazy high when i start it up and then i shut the key off when it gets to high. The Carb is not sticking open though!

Any help?
