Firebird Rolls and Rolls until oil pressure builds
Well when I bought my 1991 bird, the last owner said they replaced the stock engine with a 350. But the problem is the car doesn't like to start, it will roll and roll and when the oil pressure gauge starts to go up then it starts along with a bit of blue smoke. I replaced the starter, then the oil pressure sensor. Now I'm thinking it's the valve seals. What rebuild kit should I get for it? Or could it be something else causing this?
I also noticed when checking my engine light with the computer that it wouldn't read the 350 motor, i had to put it as the 5.0 motor. Could this cause any problems?

You'll need to get the computer set up for the 350 before you're done with it. No way around that unless you decide to carb it.
Also, sounds like your fuel pump isnt turning on until the oil pressure switch activates it. Turn your key to the on position and see if you can hear the fuel pump running, if not, you will need to wire up the other fuel pump switch wire to turn it on. There is a wire that came from the ECM that normally immediately activates the fuel pump upon cranking. There is also a wire from the oil pressure sending unit that will send a signal to the fuel pump once oil pressure is built up enough. Find the wire from the ECM and see what it's doing. If I remember right, there are two relays on the driver's side of the firewall, one is the fan relay, and the other is the fuel pump or the headlights. But I can't remember, really.

How can I get the computer set up? And what will that do exactly? I mean it runs just fine.
And yes, the fuel pump runs for a bout a couple of seconds.
