My 1995 Formula Firebird has an intermittent hesitation accelerating from a dead stop, but only in 1st gear (LT1, 6 sp manual). I would like to take it to an honest mechanic anywhere in the Lower Mainland. I live in Coquitlam, but I work in Vancouver, so any suggestions will be much appreciated.

 

this is a 3rd gen forum, not 4th gen. You have the OBD1 computer with OBD2 port. An Actron 9145 scanner will read the car and also prove data. Or, you can order a cable at www.aldlcable.com and you'll get scanning software.

It could be plugs, wires, fuel filter, fuel pump, optispark, o2 sensor or any countless other items

 

Thanks for your reply, and your suggestions. I realize I have a 4th gen, not a 3rd, but I searched this forum for local members, and found several. I was hoping to locate an honorable mechanic in my general area.
