3.625" stroke crank?

Can anyone tell me if I would need my block notched to use this crankshaft in a SB 350 block?

And anyone have experience with Ohio Crankshafts, if so how are they?

Re: 3.625" stroke crank?

Why, are you afraid of a little grinding? And how much are those custom pistons going to cost? And is it really worth that much just to gain 14 cubic inches maybe without having to clearance the block?
The 383, with 3.75" of stroke, is popular for several good reasons. You can grind the block enough without hitting water, there are cheap pistons readily available, you get enough gain to justify the relatively low cost, and more.
What you're wanting to try doesn't make much sense, even if the crank is free.
Are you racing in a class that has a cubic inch rule? Or a stroke rule?
There's no guarantee of it fitting without grinding, you still have to check it, with the crank, rods, and pistons all installed in the block.

If using a 350 block

Yes. You need to gring the block. Normally a 3.562 is the largest you can go without grinding, but you still need to check.

Re: 3.625" stroke crank?

Thanks Gwarren, thats just the answer I was looking for. Cuz if I didnt have to have it grind I would have went with the 370cid since im supercharging it. But since it still has to be notched ill go go with 383cid. I guess Ill be taking it to the machine shop, not brave enough to do it myself.
