MAF ?

Is a 350tpi able to run without the maf senser hooked up at start up?My car didn't have it hooked up when I bought it.I hooked it up.(wires we chewed in two by mouse)While running, trying to find out some issues,I unhooked the maf conector and the engine died like now!

Re: MAF ?

It should be able to. Unplugging the maf forces the computer into limp home mode and uses fixed tables, iirc, for the fuel. It should not only run it should be able to drive decently, considering.
I can't remember offhand the power flow through the relays so if one is fried it may kill something else, somewhere else. Sorry, it's been several years. Vader would probably still remember...

Re: MAF ?

There is a delay before the ECM will set a code. Some calibrations have a default value for the airflow that allows the engine to idle, others dont. So, sometimes they will stall if you pull the plug while running.

Re: MAF ?

Thanks, that helps me on future trouble shooting.I didn't know if it was just by chance or what.I didn't want to do it again to see if the same thing would happen.Might mess somthing up.Don't need to do that.
