Is this a fuel problem
kay so bout a week ago im driving back from dropping the wife off at work(low fuel) and upon getting off the freeway car stalls at stoplight i get her to start up once the light goes green i make it like 20ft and she dies again this time i crank it and nothing i wait a few minutes let the lanes clear up and get her to start again drive a few feet and coast down to the gas station and fuel up. Then on the way home as im driving my cars rpms start jumping down causing my car to run like **** and would stall out everytime i came to a stop, next morning i go out to start her up and it'd start idle for a sec then just die so i figured the old pump must be shitting out from me running out of gas and running it dry, so today i got the new pump installed and its running better but im still having the issue of my rpms kicking down, car never did this previously only started after this little incident. Car is 87 305 tpi auto only code its throwing is a 33

Re: Is this a fuel problem
Hey, old post but sounds like MAF. Check connections at MAF sensor. Loose or dirty connections at the MAF are a common issue. When my MAF was acting up, I had to hold the throttle down a little every time I came to a stop or the car would stall. Also, if I tapped the throttle while driving, the RPMs would drop slightly for a split second as if fuel flow had been interrupted. I actually had to use a zip tie to squeeze the connection as tightly as possible to get the MAF to work properly. My problem went away for about eight years until I actually had to replace to sensor. Hope this helps.
I just realized that you didn't mention your fuel filter. If you haven't changed it you should go ahead and do so. If you ran the tank dry, the filter could be clogged up with contaminants. Good luck.
