Gas coming from tail pipes!

Hey, I have an 89 Firebird 350tpi and I drove to the store and everything was fine. A couple of hours later I was going to a friends and the care started to run real funny like when i put my foot on the gas it would almost stall. I got to the gas station and I put gas in her and I noticed liquid being spit out by the pipes and i put my hand under and it was pure gas. Can someone please help me!!!!!!!! Do you guys think it could be a fuel injector that is open?

Next time catch a few drops that are coming from the exhaust in a container and put a match to it. Tell us what happens.

Re: Gas coming from tail pipes!

it may smell like gas but it is unlikely raw gas would make it all the way to the tail pipe .

Re: Gas coming from tail pipes!

if it was gasoline, with the motor running as the exhaust heated up it would vaporize in the exhaust and turn into white smoke that dissipates very quickly.

Yea I am asking for help I'm not trying to be a smart a** just asking a question. It was a combination of white smoke and gas coming out.

Re: Gas coming from tail pipes!

the white smoke is gas that has been evaporated by it touching the hot exhaust the liquid is condensation comes out of all tail pipes ( some more than others) from the gas evaporating .I would say if it's smoking that bad and going through a lot of gas then you have something going on like a stuck injector or a bad sensor making it run very rich . Is your check engine light on ? With out any more info except it's smoking there is not much anyone can do without looking at the car itself.
