Which centerbolt valve covers will not leak with AFR heads?

I installed my AFR 180's this Summer and have been fighting a valve coverleak ever since. I would like to know what centerbolt valve covers are being used on AFR heads by other members. Thanks in advance.

Does this mean that no centerbolt valve covers work with AFR 180 heads?

Re: Which centerbolt valve covers will not leak with AFR heads?

I've got a set of the older AFR 190's (non-eliminator series) on my motor, and I'm just running the way common aftermarket centerbolt covers that you see for sale all over. They're the ones that are polished cast aluminum, a bit taller than stock, and have the ball-milled lines on the top. Haven't had any leak problems with them at all. I used the blue rubber, or neoprene Fel-Pro valve cover gaskets with them, and they sealed great. The first set of gaskets I had on them were made of cork-rubber material, and those leaked of course. I despise any gaskets made of cork! If you're not running neoprene style gaskets at the moment, I'd highly suggest picking up a pair of them. Btw, I did have to cut about 1/4 inch off the chrome bolts that came with my aftermarket covers. The bolt holes in my AFR heads aren't tapped near as deep as the stock cast iron heads, so they bottomed out before ever being tight. It was a simple fix cutting them a bit shorter though. They tightened up great after that.

Thanks, I will try the Spectre ones they sell at Autozone. They sound like the ones you described.
