Just a curious question... I just bought a really nice 89 IROC with the L-98 350 TPI. What kind of fuel mileage do you guys get with this motor around town and on the highway typically? I just sold my 01 SS Camaro with the LS1 and 6-speed, obviously the mileage won't be as good as the LS1 car but is it decent? The reason I ask is because I drive an hour to and from work and will be driving this car on pretty days. Also I will be installing a LT1 T-56 6-speed in place of the TH700R4 so that should bump it up a little. All bolt on mods will be done along with headers and magnaflow exhaust. I'm not really concerned about fuel mileage anyway, just curious as to what to expect.

Ive got one with a mild cam and roller valve train...runs reall good but bad mileage. About 19mpg hwy and 13 city. I know it aint stock but there it is.

 

That ain't bad mileage.

I got low 20's highway and low teens around town in my L98/T56 car with bolt-ons and chip work.

I never get good mileage in cars because of driving habits, so I'm sure it was good for a couple more with a normal driver. :P

 

the TPI l98 in stock form should get 16-18 around town and 24 or so highway. Depends on how you drive it of course.
