quick heat shield questions

First is there one heat shield for the gas tank or 2?

I dropped my rear end a while back and just getting back to putting it up, but for some reason I can not figure at all how to get it back on? I thought there was 2 when I was doing it but I'm not sure.

I know the correct thing to do would to get it back on, but do you think I could leave it off?

Re: quick heat shield questions

There are two pieces, a large flatter one and a smaller curved one. There are around eight small metric sheet metal screws holding it all together. Also note that you need to install the panhard brace before you install the shields as one of them bolts to it in several places.

Do not leave the shields out. That's just sloppy work.

Re: quick heat shield questions

Ok thank you. I was wondering why I couldn't find where to put it and I thought there was 2 when I took em out. So pan head bar 2 shield then the other bar
