electrical problem. no spark.
awhile back i had something happen when i was starting my GTA. during mid crank, all the electronics died and the whole car was dead. i waited an hour before i tried anything again. everything worked except the starter, it would just click.
i had removed my engine after that to fix some oil leaks that had gotten worse. also replaced my battery ground wire because it was arcing to the block and thought it was just a bad ground.
everything is all ready to go and get ready to start it and nothing happens at all. starter doesn't even try. after messing around checking stuff, i find that if i just moved the ignition switch under the dash, the starter would work.
now got that figured out and fixed, and i don't have spark.

found that connector not connected to anything, but it looks like it doesn't go into the distributor, not sure where it goes though..
what are some procedures i can go through to test why i'm not getting any spark?

Are you getting spark from the coil wire? If so, you're ignition module may have failed. If I recall correctly, the connector in your pic goes to the EGR solenoid.
Hope this helps!

Be careful and use either a spark tester or a old plug and hook it to the wire coming from the coil to the dizzy. It could be your icm or your dizzy that took a crap most common I've found out it's the icm

No it's in the dizzy, pull the cap off and you'll see it mounted to the base of the dizzy it should have two plugs running to it.
