87 Firebird
I'm going to look at an 87 Firebird with a 2.8L V6/5spd Saturday. I'm hoping to get it to use as a commuter. Anyways, the ad says it runs and drives, but I found out that was in 2009 and it has sat ever since. If it doesn't start, what usually goes wrong when a 3rd gen has sat for that long? I'm not too familiar with fuel injected vehicles. I've mostly tinkered around with 6.2L diesels. I plan on renting a tow dolley to get it home and go thru the usual checks and if I can't get it running, I'm going to raid the parts I need to get my 83 Z28 going. Any help/thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: 87 Firebird
Well, turns out nothing happened...didn't get a chance to even see the car. Was given a place and time to meet, rented a trailer, and drove close to 3 hours to meet the guy and he was a no show. Asked all the neighbors in the area if they knew of a firebird for sale and drove around for an hour trying to find the guy with no luck. Firgure the car was sold out from under us. F-in craigslist flake.
On the bright side tho, I found the clutch hydraulics I need for my 83 Z28 so now I can start working on modifying my car for them. There was a camaro that had the pedals I need but when I went back to the yard they were gone...all I was able to get was the master and slave cylinders for the clutch. Gonna start workin on it tomorrow.
