Issue with installation of new engine, help appreciated

I have a 1984 Z28, It had a 350 4 bolt main with a spun rod bearing, long story short I had the engine rebuilt and am in the proces of putting it back in when I ran into a problem. It seems as if the engine and transmission are both sitting forward a 1/2 inch too far. I installed new stock motor mounts with the reinstall. I noticed that the transmission isn't sitting at the same location it was when removed, and the Hooker super comps I bought are into the k member. (like the engine needs to slide back a 1/2 inch) Any ideas about something I can check or look for?

Brackets on the sides of the motor, that sit on the mounts, are exchanged
