rebuilding 1988 305
Lets get this out of the way, put a 350 in it, Well I dont want to.
well first I sent crank out to get cleaned up and then reinstalled it with new main bearing and rod bearings
All new rings installed also
LT1 Cam and comp cam springs 5703, all intake and exhaust valves were cleaned of carbon, and reinstalled with all new valve seals and O rings
The orginal head swirls were ported

Started to reassemble the heads after a quick paint job of chevy orange on the heads and block

Next

Removed all the old freeze plugs and installed New

Next will be installing double roller timing chain, cam and lifters and rods, still looking for a set of 1.6 roller rockers self aligning
any comments or question will be appreciated
UPDATE sent my intake and oil pan out for powercoat at a friends pick them up today

also installed the heads, new rear main seal and timing chain cover

Re: rebuilding 1988 305 update
well the weather in new york was nice for a few days so i got a lot done, but not on the camaro, I lifted my sons xterra 3"
But i did get the heads back on the camaro and did remove the fly wheel the bolts were a serious pain in the *** they had to be headed and chisled toremove rear main seal.
Now i need to get 1.6 roller rockers self aligning and water pump
