Power Steering Issues
Power Steering Issues
Well, the power steering went out on my '92 bird. It was the first really cold night of the winter a few nights ago, somewhere around 30, and minutes after leaving in the car, the wheel became almost impossible to turn.
I'm guessing my first step is to replace the power steering box. Is there anything I should check before I do this?
Also, is there any tips on removing the box? Didn't seem as simple as I thought it would be when I crawled under the other day.

Re: Power Steering Issues
yeah, it could be a lot of things... including something as simple as the hose not being tight on the back side of the pump. it happened to me
check the fluid, if it's empty, fill it to specs, start the car, move the wheel lock to lock and see if you can tell where it's leaking from
if the pump is still full, you've got bigger problems
