Re: what compression ratio?

Cast flat tops will have the usual .020" of extra "rebuilder" deck clearance added, on top of the stock .025".

So: 305 + .030"; flat top, 6cc valve reliefs; .045" clearance; .039" gasket; 58cc chambers: 8.17:1.

TPI is rather picky about cams, especially in a very low-compression 305 like that. I'd suggest a Comp "501" grind. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-08-501-8/

Don't expect miracles.
