oil leak

I have a very small oil leak from the back of my engine which is a 305 v8 I had the oil pan gasket changed a year ago and I also had the rear main seal checked it was bone dry ..had my oil pressure sensor changed and now it looks like the leak is from around the oil filter .which is dry .I can't seem to find the source.of this leak...any input is well appeciated!

Re: oil leak

be sure that it is engine oil and not auto tranny fluid

stick your hands on the rear of the engine to see if it's a leak from the intake manifold

rear main seals can begin to leak the minute after they are inspected

if it's not the intake manifold, and it does look like a rear seal, then go to amazon.com and buy a bottle of White Shepherd Rear Main Sealer

it's about $12 and is worth trying first. It has good success on weeping rear mains, not flowing rear mains.
