Need help

Guys I need help. I just had new set injectors, fuel pressure regulator, o2 sensor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, iac, and tps sensor installed. Timing is a 6, tps at .54. The problem is that it idles high. It had a hunting idle issue that was giving me headaches. Before the hunting idle issue it idled at 650 in park.
Thanks in advance,
Gerry

Re: Need help

My 89 iroc has a stock 350. New injectors 22 lbs are from Southbay. I know it cant be the injectors. I've heard nothing but great news on forum.

Thanks,
Gerry

Re: Need help

sounds like a problem with your IAC, check that out. Could be something as simple as a loose connection.

Re: Need help

Thanks for the reply, Yes, its tpi and idle was set before the injector swap. I'm thinking it could be the ecm since almost everything ,but the maf has been replaced. Anybody else has other ideas?

Thanks,
Gerry

Re: Need help

Whenever an injector swap is done the chance of creating a vacuum leak increases greatly due to the disassembly of the TPI and also due to the 8 injectors themselves.
I would triple-check all the vacuum connections, then look very carefully for a possible leak.
An unlit Propane torch is helpful in pinpointing leaks.

Re: Need help

Yup vacuum leaks are over looked everyday by the best mechanics. Not only ck. the actual lines, but don't forget any electrical switch, solenoid, etc that any vacuum line plugs into may be defective. I have seen a few cases where the ECM has to be "Re-learned" also. How high is idleing now ? Any codes ? All the componets of your air box, tubing, etc connected tightly ? May sound stupid but I have seen it happen before, look over your throttle cables. You may find either the throttle cable, cruise control cable, or passing gear cable too tight for some reason. Carbon in your throttle body disrupting the correct closure of the butterfly ? Sometimes the hardest stuff to fix, is the easiest to over look.
