will codes read while car is running?
i was trying to pull some codes from my 92 RS so i jumped out the A&B circuit and turned the car on and got 3 codes. i know i have more codes than that because i've seen my mechanic hook up his expensive obd1 scanner to it before so i thought maybe i'll get more codes with the car running. so i turned it over and it started flashing like crazy, is that right?

Can't use the paper clip method with it running AFAIK. I've even heard some people say that will damage something but I haven't ever seen that happen... yet.

theirs probably some truth to that because my car did do some weird stuff when i turned it over with the paper clip in their

The expensive OBD1 scanner reads exactly the same codes as the paperclip, just in a different format.

do they make something w/ computer program and a usb cable that can make my laptop an obd1 scanner? if so where can i get one?
