Engine: 355ci
Transmission: t56 spec3+ cluch
Axle/Gears: 9 bolt disc brake 2.77
compression ratio?
ok so i am building my first engine(355ci vortec) and i was just wondering how do i fined out the compression ratio of the motor? is there a math formula that i could do to fined it ?

It's pretty trivial really; junior-high arithmetic.
But there's "calculators" ALL OVER the Net, that you can put your engine's measurements into and they'll figure it out. Problem is, if the numbers you put in aren't accurate, the ones you get out won't be either.. Garbage in, garbage out. If you "guess", "estimate", "assume", or any of the rest of that about EVEN ONE of the various measurements, then a "calculator" is worthless.
I thought there was one on this site somewhere... they're SUPER EASY to write in Javascript... the one I wrote, I used Excel... but I know just about all the piston mfrs have them. Keith Black at www.kb-silvolite.com for example has an easy-to-use one.

make sure you know how far in the hole ur pistons are, the cam specs, gasket thickness and such and just plug it all into a calculator online.
