i have an 83 2.8 v6 i have just replaced plugs wires and other parts and it wont run i had it running a week ago with a bad carb and now i put on a brand new one and it will turn over but not fire and keep running. i have fuel,spark but no lovely purr what could be the issue and how can i fix it any info will help thanks ~D

 

Look down into the carb (eng. off w/ the choke open) & move the throttle arm, do you see fuel squirting out?
Recheck you firing order.

 

yes i have gas in the carb and the timing was set by a like 70yr old corvette guru he swears that its right so we shall see what happens thanks for the extra info

 

So I did a compression test and have next to none time for an engine swap any good ideas???? I was thinkin 327 or 427 both of wich would be supercharged

 

Make sure the valves aren't over adjusted.
