Hey everybody

I'm new to restoring cars and stuck at the making the car drivable stage. Here we go lol. the problems are the cars was running roughly and then at lower speeds it rattles as if it was going to die. When I come to complete stop the sometimes dies out. The next day I couldn't even get car to stay without letting off the gas pedal. When I did the car died out. I decided to have the car towed to a mechanic after researching on here and google because I figured I was over my head. The mechanic then told me the car was running rich but he couldn't figure out y. He also said that the computer would not scan or communicate to give any codes, so he could have idea where to look. Yesterday he says that he going to have to just start switching parts In and to c if he can fix. I bought the for like 1500 and it is decent condintion for its age just needs paint lol. But do u guys that can be fixed, or am I screwed and just give up?

 

jump the top right 2 ports on the communication link. its gonna flash the cel 1 time, pausde then 2 times. it will do this three times. then its gonna pulse again. count them. if it [pulses 3 times, the first number is 3, 2 pulses for 2, 1 for 1.. then it will pulse again. this will be the second number. so if it pulses lets say 4 times, your code is 34.. get it.. this will tell your code. start with that.

believe me, im new too.. its a long road but be patient.

these guys know what theyre talking bout here so hopefully you will get the help. but dont start ripping stuff off until you troubleshoot. the smallest thing can make your car run horribly..
