Car randomly dies while driving need help asap
Ill be driving and the car will be warmed up and ill just be driving and it turns off. Its happened dangerously on two occasions that i was turning and the car would die and the steering would lock up and i wouldnt be able to turn. Then today since my fuel guage is fried i figured oh its just low on gas i put 20 bucks in it the night before and in a distance of like 5 miles it did it once then on the way back from my gf's house it did it 4 time in a row at a stop light until it decided to work and drove another 5 miles home with no gas added.
This is my only car and i drive to work monday through sunday so if anyone can help me out please do.
Its burning about 20 bucks every 3 days driving slow as hell just cruising around town from home school and back a distance of like 10 miles if that. IDK what to do any more im going crazy here...
Specs :
88, 305 tpi, auto, 102k miles, new cap rotor wires plugs fuel filter.
I plugged it up to the computer at my school autoshop and it reads no data. Teacher is convinced its the computer that could be fried but if the computer is fried how can i be driving it???
PLEASE help asap its my daily

Might be fuel pump, my brother's Camaro would just randomly die on him, turned out it was the fuel pump. How does the car run after you start it back up? Does it start right up or does it take a while? If you normally run your fuel low, you could be burning up your fuel pump.

no. if it was burnt out it wouldnt be pushing as much fuel, if oure burning thru alot of gas that would mean the FP is over fueling, and its not being burned properly, so take a look at your FP regulator, check the PSI at the rail etc etc, check your injectors from there and as far as the computer goes that doesnt sound right, the ONLY scan tool ive ever been able to retrieve data with on my camaro was the Genisis (i think thats the spelling) tool, have to use an OBD1 adapter cable (normally provided with it) all the other scan tools read "no data available" if youre trying to hook up an OBD2 tool to an OBD1 system without a conversion adapter your probably wont see much on it

OK NEW UPDATE...
Theres a cluster f*** of wires coming from behind the motor by the coil of ghetto wiring done there and we just touched it and the car didnt want to turn on so we messed with it a little more and it turned on then we slammed the hood and it turned back off so we popped it again touched the wires and it cranked up and i drove home...
I will take a pic of the wires to see if you guys can figure out where they go. Cause is like connected to some relay there that looks like its supposed to be screwed into the firewall...

Nice, I was going to say fuel pump as well cause ours would "get tired" with longer drives. Start up it would run fine but if it was hot out or we drove a while it would die at random.
At least you found what it might be, electronic/wiring searching can be nightmares.

Ok so i took it to a shop today and the owner had an GTA lol so he knew this motor in and out. He plugged it up to his computer and it read bad MAF... So when we checked it out the wires that run to the maf were a little crimped up so he told me to check the voltage of those wires and if there fine then its the maf... So i will be on that tomorrow when i get out of school.
