Engine Woes:/

So my 85 camaro had been running fine until right before i was getting ready to put it away for winter, now its time to get it out and fix whatever it is. That i do not know though, it'll start, just not all the time. and almost always gas is needed to be applied while starting, and then i have to stay on the throttle for a bit before it idles correctly. Other times it wont start, it'll sound like it starts to go then stop and after a few times back fire. I've been told i should change the spark plugs and distributor cap by some friends/family and some have said it might need retimed. Any ideas suggestions or anything guys?

could be a lot of things. more details are needed on what your running. i.e., carbed, tuned port, stock or after market ignition ect....

It's a 350 sbc motor tuned port 36lb injectors stock ignition as far as i know, um it has an eagle crank and i think thats it, sorry i had a list of them all but theyre on my old computer and i need to get it.

If TPI then you need to get some scan/datalogging software and a cable so you can see what is going on with it.
You may have a mechanical problem that could have been avoided by datalogging sooner. For instance the larger injectors can cause problems if the chip isn't recalibrated for the change in size/flow.
If it hasn't been tuned (chip calibration) properly then problems would be inevitable.

Have you pulled your spark plugs and inspected them closely?
You might get some good input if you posted the pics of the plugs in order here.
