'88 IROCZ with very strange symptoms

Alright, ive had a few threads about this but still havent gotten the car fixed. Its sat at my dads shop for about 2 months and theyre finally working on it now.

The car is an 88 350tpi.

Heres what its doing. It will start up fine, and run ok for a few minutes. After warming up even slightly, when given gas it bogs down terribly, sputters and sometimes may even stall. The warmer it gets the worse it gets, and ive noticed that after filling it up completely itll run ok for maybe 10min or so then starts acting up again. I had it parked in front of my house (steep hill, car facing upwards) for a day and i noticed when i came outside in the morning there was a pretty big puddle of gas under the tank so its obviously got a leak in the tank somewhere. It always smells like raw gas towards the back of the car too. When the car is running, the pump is very audible, way more than it should be.

One of the mechanics noticed the MAP or MAT sensor wasnt plugged in (cant remember which, its on the bottom, back of the intake plenum) so he plugged it in and that did seem to help but still didnt fix it. It also needed a MAF. TPS has been checked and it is fine and adjusted correctly.

The fuel pressure has been tested, at idle its got 36-37 and when given gas it goes to 45-47. But when driven, we watched the gauge and after 30sec or so of driving it started dropping slightly, losing pressure. Our best mechanic said most likely whoever installed the pump didnt install it correctly or didnt change the filter/strainer, or something similar to that. So the tank has been dropped and ive been told i need a new tank because mine is too far gone (corroded), sending unit, and pump and everything else. We have all the parts except tank and sending unit, should be getting those soon tho.

I thought maybe it was the coil acting up, i know they can cause a car to act very irradictly when theyre failing. Still not sure, but figured its still a possiblity.

The codes for the maf have gone away with getting the new one, and i was told one of the codes was for the computer or prom. I was told it may need a computer, but i really really hope not. That code has came up before, but went away after being reset. But now apparently its came back .

Any ideas?

Get the leak fixed first, if the pump is noisy might as well change it if you have to drop the tank to fix the leak.
