So my steel tank is leaking and my fuel level sender is wonky. Should I just buy a use stock tank and sender, a new aftermarket or a used 98+ Plastic tank and sender? My fuel gauge is programmable for any sender so that won't be an issue. Leaning towards the ls tank as I am sure it's lighter and I like not having a rigid filler neck. Those with experience please chime in. Thanks.

well I convinced my self, just ordered an entire sender and pump assembly, and found a tank/filler locally so now to order up a few fittings I dont need the pump itself, due to the mechanical Race Pumps unit I am running, can I leave it in and suck past it or should I yank the pump and place a hose in its place?
also who knows what the resesistance is on the ls1 senders? I will have to program my gauge

There were no baffles in my 88 formula 350 when I cut the top off it, was going to load a pic but it was filling up the whole page. I got a replacement from the Rock and it did have baffles inside. Filler neck sits down at bottom of the fuel door opening but didn't require any modification to install. If I was going to do it again- I would go with a stainless tank or do the 4th gen fuel tank mod.

I have had no problems with my Dorman replacement steel tank, pickup, and sending unit. Filler neck was perfectly oriented. Uses a 4th gen cap.
Problem with the non rigid filler neck - how do you mount it?
