383 stroker Hooker LT starter problems!
I am wondering if someone can help me. I have a 383 stroker Gen 1 with 2210 hooker headers which my l98 92 camaro stock starter just wont fit. I am stuck and want to know what people think is the best mini starter that will work perfect with my 11:6.1 comp engine. Money is a little problem here i just want to know what others have used which fit good and is low on price.
Please if you have used this starter give me a review?

I've been running the same CVR Pro-torque mini starter for about 10 years now... Starts my car just fine on very hot days after long, heat-soaking, cruises even with my timing locked out.

You want a mini-starter with around 6:1 gear reduction, and a fully clockable mounting.
To protect your investment in a good mini-starter I suggest you use some thermotech header-wrap (2"x50'), and you wire up an ignition kill switch for starting the engine.
You kill the ignition, then turn the key to spin the engine with the starter. Once the engine is turning, you turn the ignition on.
This drastically reduces wear & tear on your starter & flexplate. The more initial spark advance you run, then more the ignition kill helps you.

Thanks for info. But how i was looking for small. I went with the Summit Mini Starter which is not big at all. I will check it out and repost to see if that fits with my 7qt oil pan and hooker headers. THanks
