Knock in LB9

I have a knock in my TPI LB9, now I have done some homework on this but still wonder what the heck i should do. Do I repair it which isnt a big deal or do i go crate as I am still trying to keep cost down. I thought of the GM crate as I work at a gm dealership and can get the engine cheaper but at the same time the heads dont work with tpi system and yes I realize i could go but the edelbrock intake but then again more cost. I tossed the idea of using the LB9 heads with the 350 ho engine but the question i have is will it hurt me or will i gain power. If I go 350 ho then I must change a few things which is fine but man i would would like to keep my cost in mind as I realize injectors and prom and intake and a couple of other things would have to be changed which adds in cost and I would like to keep it down. Wish I could just buy the LB9 but looks like the 305 small block is a thing of the past. I could just get a 350 small block crate engine which is fine but what crate engine bolts to the tpi but still maintains the power aspect. Currently it`s a 305 tpi 1989 with a 5 speed manual set-up. Thanks for any input!
