i got a 355 sbc and 700r4 trans. it shifts short and sluggish shifts, and over revs on 3rd gear under hard acceleration. now i got the edelbrock bracket that bolts to the manifold. i installed it and the cable slider doesnt slide forward when the gas is pressed. i pushed it back til it stop and mashed the pedal and the slider never came out. i grabbed a pair of pliers and tried to pull it farther but its maxed out. am i missing something?

 

nobody has had this issue?

Did you remove the TV cable at any point?

Geometry corrector may be what you need.

 

carb, put new intake on it and did it per gm directions on cable. i have the geometry corrector on the carb already. im not sure if its the cable or the governor

Is the Edelbrock bracket you have for a 700R4 or a TH350?

 

its for the 700r4. EDL-8030. yes ive been to tvmadeeze, but it still doesnt ratchet out.

yes ill take a pic of the carb and bracket as soon as im home from work this evening

 

ok i got home and i pushed sown on the tv cable and it will almost touch the intake when pushing the cable itself down. is it supposed to be tight when its at idle and wot or just wot?

 

Not "tight" at idle per se, but without slack.

 

ok i got it shifting in all gears now but there really soft do i gotta go toward firewall a little more? its not reving out but there horribly soft
