88 iroc z won't start

i have an 88 iroc 350 tpi. i got it a year ago and i've always had to pump the gas pedal to start it, or it would take a good 10 seconds to catch. Both ways when it starts it is very weak (low rpm about to stall for a second) and than revs up to normal. Over the past couple months, three times I went outside to start it and it didn't start. Each time I thought maybe I was out of gas, as it was low each time, and put in gallon after gallon trying to start in between. Everytime it started after about 3 gallons. I don't know if it even had anything to do with the gas being put in or if it was just the numerous amount of tries at starting it. Well, anyway, it won't start at all now. It turns over and everything but doesn't start. If i let is sit for awhile inbetween starts it will actually start for about a 1/4 second than back to just turning over. SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS!!! THANKYOU!!!

Re: 88 iroc z won't start

Are you getting fuel to the carb? Check your coil, cap and rotor button... I would start w/ the fuel to the carb 1st... Also, check your fuel filter...
