What's involved in replacing the speed sensor?

Or wheel speed sensor i think it's called? After a buddy checked my camaro out we figured it might not be shifting properly because of this sensor. So what exactly needs to be unbolted and where? Thanks.

There is a VSS that sends speed info to the computer
But in '84 the trans is only controlled by the TV cable ; not the computer

Good to know, I also didn't think the shift was off. But he wanted to replace it so that wouldn't even effect anything

There is a governor in the trans that affect shift points ; maybe he is confused with that.
It sometimes gets jammed up and sticks , often all it needs is removing and cleaning

For the two cents worth, a speed sensor on these cars, or at least in the case of my Formula takes maybe ten minutes. Disconnect clip, unbolt from trans, bolt new one and push clip back in. (T5)

82-89 Camaro VSS are placed on the rear of the cluster, 90+ on the tail shaft.
