Just bought this car and not sure where the "normal" needle reading on the oil pressure guage should read. The guage itself only has marks on the last 1/4 area and the first 3/4 of the guage are blank. At idle mine reads on the very first line and only slightly higher (second line) at higher rpms or when on the highway accelerating. Sometimes at idle when hot the needle rests in the empty space below the first line. Those of you familiar with this particular oil guage will know what I mean.

Is this normal?

 

The only way to be 100% sure is hook up a mechanical gauge to test the hot oil pressure, check the specs in a manual.
