Intake manifold gasket

i have a 91 TBI 305 i am replacing the intake manifold gasket and when i took the old one off the back two coolant ports were blocked off. the new gasket does not have them blocked off nor does it come with the inserts to block it off. my question is do i need to keep these blocked off any info will help im still a novice thank you!!

No, it can be open at all 4 corners, the gaskets that have the block off inserts are there to make coolant flow under the tbi unit & out the back heater hose connection. It just warms up the tbi unit quicker.

If you drive it in the winter, I'd use the block off style gaskets.
