rough idle, bad timing, gas smell
Alright guys so Im back to working on my 82 camaro SC V8 Carb. just had a baby so i had to put it on hold for a while. Anyway heres my new issue. Car was running decently but not where it needed to be. It was idling at almost 2k but ran good enough to take it for a drive where i realized the brakes were AWFUL. I replaced those and want to take it out but Im back to a shitty idle and gas smell and engine runoff (sounds like its still trying to run even though i turned it off
I have a 1406 with a FPR set at 3 to 3.5
timing set to 7Deg BTC (prev was 12 - 14 deg)
idle is 650 ( i felt 2k was way to high)
I have previously set the floats so I know there good. Does anyone have a good base timing, fuel pressure and idle as a starting point to fine tune??
I know its an odd question cuz all engines are different but Im just looking for starting point. Naturally I should go back to previous settings and work from there but Im just lost. Its my first project and i am not very car literate but im learning.
by rough idle I mean an idle like its camd up, its def stock tho.
