My 87 Iroc with a 5.7 continues to stall repeatedly.

I replaced the MAF, TPS, adjusted the injections, new fuel pump.

The process goes like this. I crank the car and it runs fine for about 5 or so minutes. Then it idles down to about 800RPM..and a few minutes more it will just stall.

And when it idles down to around 800 and I put it into reverse or drive, it will stall out.

I have to get this thing inspected soon so if anyone can help it will be really appreciated :/.

And about the death thing. I was at an intersection turning right on red, car was coming but I knew I could make it, let off brake and started to roll then it just stalls on me, so I go rolling right out in front of the car.

adjusted the injections?

Instead of slapping on new parts, verify a couple things first

What is the minimum air setting? idle speed w/ iac closed? Timing set correctly? Do those first then see if it still stalls. If it does, check the grams per second that the maf reads.

 

Is the tank full ? Whats the fuel PSI? How old is the pickup coil and ICM? When was its last tuneup? How old is the Fuel filter? How many miles are on it? Do yo have a factory service manual?

 

Sorry to sound stupid here but the Air setting, IAC, and checking the MAF. What is involved in checking these three things.

My father is gone for the week (he's the veteran mechanic) and Im taking things slow.

Tank is always around 1/2-3/4
not sure on PSI
ICM is a few months old.
Last tuneup a year ago
Filter is less than a year
41,000 original miles.
And I ordered a manual and its on the way.

 

Haven't got to try anything buy I borrowed a Diagnostic tool and will hook it up to see if it throws me anything.

High school kid keyed my hood and I've been having to deal with that...
