need to know what sensors these are

so anyways, i have an 86 firebird with the code for LG4 but the engine was swapped to an 84 so as of right now its still a mystery if its L69 or just lg4, but anyways, i have found that the car has two sensors that look like map sensors..... if they are why do i have them? i thought those were only for FI engines? if they arnt and i acctually need them, then what are they? i have to rewire the plug for one since it looks like a mouse got to it

Looks like a MAP sensor and harness to me. Perhaps it was fuel injected at one point? Otherwise, you really don't need a MAP if it's carbureted. The only other use would be for an electronically shifted transmission, but that seems unlikely.

That is a MAP sensor, they were used computer controlled carbs.

Re: need to know what sensors these are

Baro sensor would be on the opposite (right) side. Left side by booster would be the VAC sensor (as opposed to FI's MAP).

If you no longer have the computer controlled carburetor and distributor, you can leave them alone.

Re: need to know what sensors these are

and if i didnt say it before, there are 2 of these sensors, one is on the left attached on the lip right above the ac stuff and the carb is a quadrajet that has plugs so i think it might be electronically controlled

Not anymore.

If the MCS inside the carb is clicking when the key is turned to 'run' you may not be far away from getting it back the way it should be.
